This blog explains how we can set up email in Dynamics 365 Business Central. This will allow user to email documents from email accounts within D365 BC.
Dynamics 365 Business Central gives you ability to use the built-in mail function to send documents like PO, Invoice etc. to vendors and customers. By this feature user save time from downloading the documents attaching them in email and creating emails.
In order to use the send mail functionality in your Business Central system, your STMP email should be configured. To do his you need to search SMTP mail setup in search box as shown in the screen shot below and select “SMTP Mail Setup” from the list.
You will see a new pop up window will appear asking details to setup mail setting. If you are using office 365, apply these server settings by clicking the “Apply Office 365 server setting” button. In user id you can enter an email address for the account, which will be managing these emails. And do not forget to enter the password for this email Id entered by you.
To test whether the email set has been done correctly or not click Test Email “Set Up” button.
Select the email Id in which we want to receive a test email and click “OK”
As you will click "OK" system will show you the following message “A test mail has been sent to email Id. Check your inbox.
Check the inbox of the email id entered by you, shortly you will receive a test email as show below in screenshot which verifies that email setup was done correctly and now it can be used.
