Load Testing – A Brief Guide

Load Testing is the process to assess the performance of an application where an application is put through an abnormal load to see how it reacts and perform under that condition. It is thoroughly checked if the performance of the application increases or decreases in that situation. Main attributes which are verifying during this test are Peak Performance, Server Quantity and Response Time. Load testing ensures that stability is instilled into that application when multiple users access the same function simultaneously.  Load Testing is applied when development of application near to its completion. 
 Result of load testing is clearer picture of the limitations of an application. Then, Tester can easily analyze the root cause of the problem and take appropriate steps to correct occurred issues to run that application and ensures that application is able to achieve the targeted operating capacity or not . Through Load testing ,the failures are limited during production, which reduces the excessive expenses, Hence Load testing is very cost-effective in nature.

How to Start this testing 
• Step 1: Collect all requirements to initiate this testing like: all scenarios , experiences and problems which are facing by end-user during using that application .
• Step 2: Follow how end-users use the application and the amount of load they put on it regularly to analyze the real journey of that application.
• Step 3:  Set a solid base in which you can specify the conditions and run test. Whenever you see the specifications are not met, update the process for better test execution.
• Step 4: Select a tool for load testing which should be efficient and accessible and should be able to tracking  real time test data accurately and scalable to regulate the test cases & instances and easily integrate with other tools also and perform well together.
