Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) is one of the leading cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) which provides business solution and helps you to drive your sales figures and improve productivity and add value to your marketing efforts through features of MS dynamics CRM like campaign management, social insights and business intelligence.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) comes in two packages Online and on premises. It has following differences in between.        

CRM Online


The first category is a cloud-based CRM Online offering all the back-end processes such as complete setups, Application servers, database, deployments, Licensing, etc. are managed by Microsoft servers. Cloud computing is a fast-growing option for many big and small businesses types. The affordability, reliability, and flexibility of this virtualized environment service has motivated to all sizes of organizations and industries to move from On-Premises to Cloud Computing.

 

CRM On-Premise


The second category CRM On-Premise is more about customized and robust offering of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, under this option the CRM application and its databases are deployed on the CRM On-Premise “CRM purchaser” servers. Having CRM On-Premise it offers you to control all your customizations, deployments, databases, licensing, backups and other hardware and network setups. In other word the organizations who wants to go for a customized CRM solution prefer on-premise deployment as it offers better integration and customization capabilities.

The type of license to purchase depends on the level of access the client needs for his organization. Subscription Licenses (SL) come in 3 main types: User SL, Device SL, and Organization SL.

MS Dynamics CRM current market share

 

Currently MS Dynamics CRM hold 9.0 % of current market share of top CRM software vendors in 2019. As Microsoft’s CRM strategy now to extends beyond Dynamics 365 to cover Teams for collaboration, Office 365 for content and ERP for back-office integration.

 

The Future of MS Dynamics 365?

It might be too early right now to see the rebranding effects of Microsoft product “Dynamics CRM” to “Dynamics 365”, I am very eager to know the effects of rebranding of Dynamics MS CRM.

I have a feeling that Microsoft will begin to creep up on other CRM available in market over the next few years as they continue to bring Dynamics 365 into their Office 365 offering and attract customers with affordable pricing.
