Assign the User Roles in Dotnet Nuke

By Rajesh on 3/11/2014

Today I am going to discuss  how to assign the Security role among the users in Dotnet nuke, to understand how users are allowed to interact with the portal; we will need to take a look at what a role is and how it factors into the portal. Roles are used to distribute the responsibility among the users in particular portal and each user has different privilege on the site or portal. There are some type of User Role are Administrator User, Registered User, Unregistered User.

Administrator User- The Administrator User have very high security privilege, He have the permission of Add, Delete, Update the information in website and he also grants the permission to make changes in Database. He also control the security roles in the portal. These Role are built-in within Dot-net Nuke. Admin have the permission of View All, View Own, Modify All, Modify Own privileges.

Registered User- The Registered User have the permission of post the message only. Registered user are Employee of the company. He have some limitation on the portal like he can see only his own record if he want make change in his record then he need to permission from administrator. He can see only his own record the other employee record is invisible for him. (This role comes built into Dot-net Nuke; however, this permission is provided by the Administrator to this role to perform the mentioned tasks.) Registered User have the permission of View Own ,Modify Own he don't have the permission to Delete Own ,View All, and Delete All.

Unauthenticated User- The unauthenticated user is the most basic of all the user types. He has only permission to browse the site but he hasn't the authority to View or Edit any role based information on the site.
